Alt-western swing is the newest thing to hit the Canadian indie music scene! Across Saskatchewan and at major festivals like Ness Creek and Gateway Wolf Willow has revived the tradition of the live country music radio show. While their debut EP, Radio Hour, charted across Canada on indie radio, Wolf Willow is excited about the release of their full length LP in spring 2017. The new record, Darston Waltz, was recorded in one room, live off the floor emulating the approach used by Owen Bradley on early Patsy Cline recordings.
A Wolf Willow show includes ripping fast swing numbers, hardcore honktonk and heartbreaking torch songs (all with a horn section). From barn dances to major festivals, Wolf Willow is bringing back the lost side of country music -it’s the feeling that counts!
